Our year in Brief for more photos follow the

First of all, we are all
grateful to be healthy and happy and employed in a time of so much
hardship.
This year was quite straightforward for the Orange Durands, our biggest
"group news" would be our short summer train trip to Santa Barbara and
the decks we added on to our house. Hopefully some of you will get to
come enjoy them with us sometime!

The Girls loved the Santa Barbara beach.

Sydney - Sydney loves giraffes! She was so excited
to get to feed this one at the Santa Barbara Zoo during our vacation.
She continues to do well in school, and according to her, her teacher
regularly tells her how awesome she is!
Sydney turned 11 this year and still loves
gymnastics. She also started art lessons this
year, a passion she has had for as long as we can remember.
This summer Sydney returned as a camper to Arrowbear
Music Camp where she built on her percussion skills by playing claves
on "And I Love Her" and crash cymbals on "The Thunderer" march by John
Phillip Sousa!

Sierra
Sierra turned 8 this year and is
having a great time in third grade! She loves to read books from the
"Dear Dumb Diary"series. She also loves that silly Pigeon that wants to
drive a bus.
Sierra loves to make up dances with her friends and can often be found
in the living room with music on twirling in circles. She has also been
aggressively growing her Barbie collection.
Sierra was in a dance recital again last
June but has since decided that ballet may not be for her and has her
eye on taking karate in the new year.
Sierra enjoyed a week at camp with Dad
while Sydney was a camper. She can often be heard saying "meow" and we
wonder which side of the family she gets her "cat" from.
Kristen works
hard and plays hard. This probably explains why she received a Rock
Band video game drum set for her 16th anniversary! She enjoys Friday
nights when we get together with neighbors and friends to play rock
band and enjoy food and refreshment.
Kristen
loves reading, snuggling with her family, the new decks, and her iPad
:-) She continues to direct marketing for the office properties
division of The Irvine Company.
Ross continues
to do his part teaching science at Rancho Alamitos High School and
still spends several weeks of the summer at Arrowbear Music Camp. On an
average day he loves spending time with his family doing homework or
playing games or watching tv.
This year saw the release of
"American Genius" at the Riverside International Film Festival. Ross
was the lead actor in the film, which won the audience choice award for
best comedy. We are amused that this has garnered him an imdb.com
listing as actor.
Ross
continues to write and record music for fun. He currently tops the
songfight.org list with the most all-time submissions under a single
artist name. Most of the latest can usually be
found at his website.
Copper, at 15, is old and tired, but happy.
