Our House -
The big news this year regards our home addition. After a year or two
of working with our architect and the city we finally broke ground on
April 13. We had a fabulous contractor, who completed our project by
August 19 - no small feat considering we added 1200 sq feet to our 1200
square foot house. We'll be recovering for some time but are very
happily living in our new expanded quarters. Some highlights are our
new master suite and the fact that we now have a dining room! We also added a guest room - come and stay sometime :-) You can find photos tracing the project at Flickr.com. Sydney - Sydney is in third grade and doing great.
She is learning her multipication tables and division and can write in
cursive. Her favorite subjects in school are math and writing stories.
During recess she likes to walk around and talk with her friends.
Her favorite TV show is "Mythbusters" and she also likes watching The Disney Channel. Her favorite song is "I Want to Hold your Hand." This year she had her first slumber party, which was very exciting for all concerned. Last spring Sydney was selected as one of 6 students from her elementary school honored at the Orange County Young Authors Fair for her story "The Cheetah Who Lost His Spots." In addition to being a loving person in general, she specifically loves nature and ice cream. ![]() Sierra -
Sierra turned 5 this year and started
kindergarten in July. She loves her teacher, Miss Roney. She is a very
silly but happy little girl. Her favorite TV show is cartoons. She
loves to play with her toys and play games with her big sister.
Kristen is doing great getting into her second year
at The Irvine Company where she continues to take on new roles and
reponsibilities. The company seems to be keeping its head above water
in these tough times. In addition to enjoying time snuggling her kids - she also enjoys getting a little quiet time in the master bedroom and soaking in the new sunken tub. In-between she can be caught reading or watching some of her favorite shows like Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Grey's Anatomy. Ross has a new hairdo (or lack thereof). In
addition to that, he is in his 12th year teaching science at Rancho
Alamitos High School, recently
recognized by US News and World Report as one of the top 500 high
schools in the nation. Ross continues to work at Arrowbear Music Camp and take part in other musical activites. Last February he wrote and recorded an album telling the history of baseball. This year he has also continued to work with Cineclipse, scoring another short film and attending festivals in support of Limbo Lane (now available for viewing on YouTube).
